Dental loupes are magnifying glasses that dentists wear to enlarge everything that they see in the mouth. By wearing these loupes everything in the field of view appears larger and they get a better view of the site of treatment which allows for more precise dental work. This also enables dentists to make a more accurate and complete diagnosis of what is occurring in patient’s mouth.
Loupes worn by dentist’s while working also allows them a more physiologic posture and prevents slouching. Though loupes have been most popular their magnification is limited. Yet the human eye is no match for what can be achieved during dental treatment when an image is sharpened and enlarged.
